Vortex Rising

Mike's seventh book is the third part in what became a five book series about businessman Mark Watson who featured in his first two novels - Ambitions End and Winners Never Lose. The word possibly is used here as it might just be that a fourth and very final part could be written in the future thus turning the trilogy into a quadrilogy! Time will tell!

In this latest story Mark is again the central character but much older than in the first two books as he is now in his fifties and has been knighted for services to Industry. Chairman of several companies as well as a Non-Executive Director of two charities, he continues to wheel and deal in the cut throat world of big business something at which he excels, and the action takes him to America, Australia and Russia as well as becoming involved with some canny Chinese bankers.

Yet at the same time he is once again cheating on his wife with a secret mistress, and then becomes involved with a succession of girlfriends.

But while juggling his business and personal lives, he also becomes enmeshed in politics at the very highest level where his acumen, tough approach to life and avid desire to succeed enables him to make a real impact in the top secret project for which he is recruited.

The story weaves its way through the environment of big business and politics encompassing many aspects of recent past as well as current political life as the worlds, desires and challenges of business, Government and Monarchy intermingle and collide, finally building inexorably to a dramatic political and personal ending.
