Winners Never Lose

Set in the Oil and Pharmaceutical Industries, Winners Never Lose is an absorbing and fast moving story again featuring Mark Watson who first appeared in Mike's first book - Ambitions End

Winners Never Lose is a direct sequel to Ambitions End and starts from the point at which the first book finished, but it is equally readable if Ambitions End hasn't been read.

The first part of the story balances Mark's business and personal activities.

On the business front it tells firstly of his activities in the Oil Industry as he grapples with the problems of a medium sized oil company struggling to compete against the global giants of the industry, and his attempts to sell off his underperforming old oil rigs and other unprofitable parts of his business as well as creating a new Green Energy Division to focus on new and non fossil fuel forms of energy to meet the increasing global demand for energy while reducing greenhouse gases and damage to the environment.

However, on a personal level he is coming to terms with the fact that his secret mistress has produced his illegitimate son and how he will manage to explain that to his wife and children. But as he is doing that, tragedy befalls the new born child and his mistress has to come to terms with a life utterly changed from what she'd thought and dreamed it would be.

Mark throws himself into his work and a string of affairs as he also changes Industries having been headhunted out of Oil and into the world of Pharmaceuticals, where his ruthless and constantly demanding management style seeks to transform a moribund pharmaceutical company into a world player by a programme of growing it's own business as well as setting out on an aggressive strategy to acquire many of his competitors.

Battling with banks and his other directors he forces through the changes that he wants to make as he makes use of industrial espionage to learn more about his competitors and his own senior people as he ruthlessly hunts for the mole who is leaking information to competitors.

This is another fast paced novel with the action moving from Britain to America, India, Europe and finally Australia.
